Koh Chang's mountainous interior is home to several stunning waterfalls. Klong Plu, just 15 minutes from the resort, cascades over sun-soaked cliffs and is the island's most popular. On the quieter east coast, Than Mayom bears the carved initials of two Thai kings who visited over a century ago.

Cruise through the mangroves of Ban Salak Khok aboard a traditional wooden gondola, paddled by a boatman in period costume inspired by King Rama V's historic visit. The one-hour ride drifts past fishing villages and lush mangrove forest into Salak Khok bay. Snacks, dinner sets and romantic flower decorations can be arranged for special occasions.

Even if you don’t take the snorkeling tour, Bang Bao pier is worth a visit. The pier is an old fishing village built on stilts over the water. Many of the buildings have been turned into restaurants, shops or guesthouses, but there are still plenty of villagers who continue their lifestyle. Watch the fishing boats come and go, or eat at any of the great restaurants on the pier.
